March 8, 2010 is the deadline to join us for our 2nd. annual trip to the Central Coast Championships at the Bakersfield Racquet Club March 27-30. This is a sanctioned Southern California Tennis Association/USTA tournament. a double format that guarantees at least 2 matches in singles.If you are interested in joining us for 2010, the cost is $195.00. This includes a hotel room for 2 nights, breakfast, entry fee for singles & doubles, a tournament t-shirt, and a daily workout. Call Coach Harvey to sign up or for more details.
Effective immediately, I will be posting some Southern California Tennis Association (SCTA/USTA) sanctioned tournaments with their USTA ID number so you can readily find them on the internet. These are tournaments I feel all my students and team members should consider entering. Some like Bakersfield and the South Bay tournament at the Jack Kramer Club tournament are fun to travel to as a team. Contact me if you are interested. Success in these tournaments can lead to a ranking in Southern California. Remember, tournaments are a way to see how the best juniors play so you can set goals for your own improvement.
Congratulations to Mike & Bob Bryan from Camarillo for their part in clinching the Davis Club title for the United States in 2007. **If you didn't know, Mike & Bob started their tournament career in VCJTA tournaments. The Bryans also won their 4th. Australian Open Grand Slam title in January 2010.
